Areas of Practice:

Mr. Grundy has twenty-three years experience in a variety of domestic and international oil and gas matters, including three years as Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs, U.S. Department of Energy, in Washington D.C. He advises oil and gas companies, service and supply companies, host governments, universities and institutes, international organizations, financial institutions and other members of the international oil and gas industry.

His practice includes drafting and negotiating exploration and production agreements, joint ventures, purchase and sale agreements, drilling and service agreements, crude oil trading transactions, sales representation agreements, and related agreements, and litigation involving U.S. companies in foreign jurisdictions, including identification of foreign legal counsel.

Mr. Grundy has substantial expertise and experience in international energy law and policy, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues, political risk insurance, government finance, trade sanctions, foreign assets control, the North American Free Trade Agreement, the Energy Charter Treaty, host government-industry relations, and domestic and foreign government relations, and the general representation of U.S. companies in international business transactions. He has worked in all major oil producing regions of the world, with particular emphasis on Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the former Soviet Union.

Areas of Practice:

Mr. Boulos serves as Senior Counsel to Grundy & Associates. He has had extensive legal and business experience in building alliances in the international oil industry and in forming strategic oil and gas joint ventures worldwide, having spent thirty years in the international divisions of Mobil and Conoco. Mr. Boulos advises domestic and foreign oil and gas companies, host governments, international organizations, and financial institutions, on international oil and gas agreements and host government negotiations, and also conducts training programs for industry and government officials. He has significant experience in dispute resolution services, including mediation and international arbitration.

Mr. Boulos was formerly Senior Director, Exploration and Production International, for Conoco in London and Houston, and Senior Counsel for Mobil in New York and London. He was selected by the international oil industry to be Chairman of the Industry Legal Committee during negotiations with OPEC in the 1970's. Mr. Boulos was the founder and first Chairman of the European Petroleum Negotiators Group, a professional organization in London of more than 200 companies, and President of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators in Houston. He has worked in all regions of the world, with particular emphasis on Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
